FRANKLIN, Tenn., April 22, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Affinion Benefits Group, the insurance division of Affinion Group and the nation's largest third-party administrator (TPA) of insurance services, today announced the availability of a unique insurance program that financial institutions and credit unions can offer their customers and members. Named the Recuperative Care Plan, this group accident and sickness insurance program enables Affinion's partners to make available to their customers insurance protection to help cover the everyday expenses after hospitalization.
Customers that enroll in the program through one of Affinion's partners will be eligible to receive a cash benefit for each day of hospitalization, payable upon discharge. For example, anyone insured with the Recuperative Care Plan can receive $400 cash for covered injuries, or $200 for illnesses, for each day they're required to be in the hospital. These benefits are paid directly to the consumer and serve as a discretionary cash benefit, allowing consumers to spend the benefit dollars on any recovery needs they see fit. Any customer who enrolls in this coverage is guaranteed acceptance.

The Recuperative Care Plan, underwritten by Minnesota Life Insurance Company, typically provides customers who purchase through an Affinion partner with 60 days of coverage at no cost. Following completion of the first 60 days at no cost, insurance continues at a rate of $24 per month (approximately $.77 per day) for single coverage, and is billed on a monthly basis.
