Africa Adventure Company Is Honored in National Geographic Traveler Magazine's "50 Tours of a Lifetime"
NEW YORK, May 2, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Africa Adventure Company's "Eyes on Elephant" trip has been selected as one of this year's National Geographic Traveler magazine's prestigious "50 Tours of a Lifetime." The honorees have been chosen for being the most authentic, most innovative, most immersive, best-guided and most sustainable tours of the year.
"Eyes on Elephant" is a 15-day trip to Zimbabwe that was introduced to celebrate Africa Adventure Company's 25th anniversary in the safari business this year. The itinerary was designed by owners Mark and Alison Nolting and includes the active game viewing ventures of walking in Northern and southeastern Hwange and canoeing in Mana Pools as well as open vehicle game drives with two nights at majestic Victoria Falls.
Through the unique experience of mobile camping on this trip, guests encounter the true unspoiled Africa, staying at first class, private mobile tented camps and permanent tented camps in the parks. "This is a one-of-a-kind adventure and the best way to get up close to nature, especially elephants," said Alison.
Another highlight of this safari is the extraordinary level of guiding. Nic Polenakis, one of the professional guides escorting the trip, has been recognized by the magazine as being one of the featured "10 Great Tour Guides" of the year.
Africa Adventure Company is offering the "Eyes on Elephant" trip from late May through late September and there is still space available on several departures.
