Company Names 25 Year Industry Veteran Marianne Meins to Lead Intel/Defense Sector; John Edwards Named VP for National Security Initiatives
CHANTILLY, Va., March 8, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Agilex, a leading provider of mission and technology solutions to the national and homeland security, healthcare and public sectors, announced today the appointment of Marianne Meins as President of the company's Intel/Defense Sector business. Ms. Meins brings over 25 years of business and technology leadership in the defense, intelligence and homeland security sectors to Agilex. She will have overall responsibility for the company's business operations supporting the Defense and Intelligence Communities, including business growth, solution development, service delivery and customer satisfaction.

Ms. Meins brings extensive business experience in leading high-growth enterprises serving the national security community, as well as deep technical expertise in intelligence applications and cybersecurity. Most recently, she served as Senior Vice President for National Security Initiatives at Secure Mission Solutions and as Vice President and General Manager for the company's Systems Engineering and Security Sector business. During her tenure, she secured key accounts with the United States Cyber Command (USCYBERCOM), the Federal Bureau of Investigation's (FBI) National Gang Intelligence Center and the Joint IED Defeat Organization's Counter-IED Operations/Intelligence Center (JIEDDO COIC).
Previously, she established the cyber and intelligence business solutions group for Olive Group North America as the company's Vice President of Intelligent Security Solutions. She has also served with General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems as Director of Engineering for the company's ISR division, which employs over 2,000 engineers.
She joined General Dynamics following the company's acquisition of Veridian Corporation, where she served as Managing Director for the company's Homeland Security line of business. In this capacity, she served on the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Infrastructure Protection Transition Task Force, where she supported implementation of the U.S. Computer Emergency Response Team (US-CERT), the National Infrastructure Coordinating Center (NICC) and the Homeland Security Operations Center's (HSOC) Intel Cyber cell. She also served on the President's Critical Infrastructure Protection Board's Cyber Interagency Working Group, which was responsible for developing the Cyber Information Assurance Implementation Plan. She also led the development of the Global Early Warning Information System (GEWIS), which was sponsored by the National Coordinating Center for Telecommunications Information Sharing Analysis Center (Telecom-ISAC).
Ms. Meins holds a master's degree in computer science from George Mason University, a bachelor's degree in applied mathematics/scientific programming from the University of California, San Diego, and is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
