Agilis Forms Advisory Board With Leaders From Dow, BASF, Brenntag, allnex and BCG
Executives who ran P&L, distribution, and strategy across the global chemical industry will advise Agilis on AI, enterprise adoption, and international growth
NEWARK, N.J., Sept. 8, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Agilis, a provider of digital and artificial intelligence (AI) solutions purpose-built for the chemical industry, today announced the formation of its Advisory Board.
The board joins at a point where Agilis has moved from proving its platform to scaling it. The company has digitized more than one million SKUs, runs in more than 50 countries, and has had AI features in production with customers since 2024 — a period during which much of the industry has remained in the pilot phase. The Advisory Board will help Agilis scale enterprise adoption, expand its AI capabilities, and broaden the business impact of its platform.
"We started Agilis to solve a practical problem: the chemical industry needed digital technology built around its own products, data and commercial processes," said Jay Bhatia, Founder and CEO of Agilis. "That foundation is now proven at enterprise scale. This Advisory Board will help us apply it more widely — to how chemical companies operate, sell, and serve their customers."
The Advisory Board will provide independent guidance to the Agilis leadership team on strategy, product direction, enterprise adoption, commercial execution, and international growth. Together, its members bring experience leading chemical businesses, distribution networks, digital transformation, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate strategy.
The members of the Agilis Advisory Board are:
- Dan Futter, former Chief Commercial Officer of Dow. Futter helped pioneer digital channel adoption at Dow and led the launch of Dow.com - one of the largest e-commerce channels in the industry.
- Steve Holland, former Chief Executive Officer of Brenntag. Holland steered Brenntag's transformation into a publicly listed global leader in chemical distribution, significantly expanding the company's sales, profitability, and international reach.
- Gerry Podesta, former Senior Vice President of BASF. Podesta led three major specialty chemical divisions and built a strong and sustainable record of operational discipline and profitable growth. Prior to joining BASF, he served as VP of GE Plastics Americas.
- Andreas Gocke, former Senior Partner at Boston Consulting Group and leader of its global chemicals practice. Gocke has advised leading chemical companies across Europe, Asia and the Middle East on strategy, transformation and value creation.
- Benoit DeBecker, former Senior Vice President, Corporate Development, at allnex. DeBecker helped drive transformational growth during allnex's PE journey, leading M&A, commercial excellence, sustainability, and innovation.
"I joined Agilis because it has moved beyond promise to proven adoption," said Dan Futter. "Its business model is working, the technology is being used at meaningful scale, and the leadership team understands the operational realities of the chemical industry. Agilis is well positioned to turn digital technology and AI into practical business value, and I look forward to helping the team scale responsibly."
