A.I.M. Mutual's Karen Orton Honored with Lifetime Achievement Award

BURLINGTON, Mass., Oct. 20, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Karen Orton, Senior Underwriter for the A.I.M. Mutual Insurance Companies, was honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Connecticut Young Insurance Professionals (CTYIP), an affiliate of the Professional Insurance Agents of Connecticut. The award was presented at a reception in New Haven, Connecticut, October 16.

"This award recognizes an individual's lifelong dedication to PIA and to the Young Insurance Professionals," said Jillian Krynski, YIP Director. "Karen is a respected advocate within the insurance industry, consistently supporting those around her while advancing her own professional journey. The CTYIP Lifetime Achievement Award has been presented annually since 2013.

Karen began her insurance career as a Workers' Compensation Outside Claims Adjuster in 1982 and moved into marketing and, eventually, commercial underwriting. Prior to A.I.M. Mutual, she was with MAPFRE as a Business Development Representative and Commercial Lines Underwriter, USI as a Commercial Lines Account Manager, and Coverys as a Senior Marketing Representative.

She joined A.I.M. Mutual in 2018 as a Senior Underwriter, working closely with brokers in Connecticut, Rhode Island and Massachusetts to market the company's workers' compensation coverage and services. She is part of an underwriting team that consistently meets new business growth objectives.

Karen's involvement with PIA Connecticut has spanned more than 30 years. By 1994, she was already taking advantage of educational and networking opportunities and soon stepped into leadership roles. She served in several capacities for the CTYIP including Director and Ex-officio Director and Tri-State Alliance member. She was named Connecticut Young Insurance Professional of the Year in 1996. For PIA Connecticut, she is a past Education/Conference Committee member, Convention Chair and Communications Vice-Chair.

Karen holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Rhode Island. She also earned her Certified Insurance Counselor, Certified Risk Manager and Certified Professional Insurance Agent designations.

Also honored at the October 16 reception was the 2025 Connecticut Young Insurance Professional of the Year Malorie Leone from Atlantic Casualty.
