Akima Expands in Huntsville with New Office Opening, Strengthening Support for the Defense, Aerospace, and Technology Sectors

HERNDON, Va., Sept. 18, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Akima, a leading provider of mission-focused solutions to the federal government, celebrated the opening of its new 35,000-square foot Huntsville office with a ribbon cutting ceremony on September 10. The expansion underscores Akima's long-term commitment to The Rocket City's thriving defense, aerospace, and technology sectors.

Attendees included Huntsville Mayor Tommy Battle; Madison County Commission Chairman Mac McCutcheon; U.S. Army service members; leaders from the Federal Bureau of Investigation; representatives from the Huntsville/Madison County Chamber of Commerce; industry partners; and Akima employees.

The new facility strengthens Akima's ability to deliver mission-essential solutions while creating new opportunities for collaboration and innovation. The company is also contributing to the region's economic vitality by creating high-quality jobs in Huntsville, expanding its local workforce in aerospace, IT, engineering, logistics, and mission support.

Akima already supports some of Huntsville's most critical federal missions. At Redstone Arsenal, the company provides a range of facility support expertise, including engineering and environmental services, and facility and equipment maintenance for tenants that include the U.S. Army Materiel Command, U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Command, Space and Missile Defense Command, numerous Program Executive Offices, as well as components of the Defense Intelligence Agency and the Missile Defense Agency.
