Alliance Corporation selects Straight Path Spectrum for Distribution to Wireless Networks Operators

GLEN ALLEN, Va. and LINCOLN PARK, N.J., May 29, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Alliance Corporation (Alliance), a full-service value-added distributor and manufacturer of products and solutions for the wireless industry, today announced a sales and co-marketing agreement to re-sell Straight Path Spectrum, Inc.'s licensed 39 GHz microwave spectrum in the United States. Straight Path Spectrum, Inc. a subsidiary of Straight Path Communications Inc. (NYSE MKT: STRP), is a holder of a nationwide portfolio of 39 GHz FCC licensed spectrum.

The agreement will allow Alliance to bundle Straight Path's licensed spectrum with several of Alliance's microwave manufacturers and offer wireless network operators high data capacity in the relatively abundant 39 GHz band, quickly and economically.   The solution offers a compelling alternative to the traditional Part-101 licensed frequencies, particularly for those network operators and enterprise users who need rapid deployment in one of the many U.S. cities facing frequency congestion today.  Additionally the 39 GHz band allows for Point-to-Multi-Point (PMP) transmissions, as well as small form factor radios – features that are indispensable for certain network build outs.
