AllianceRx Walgreens Prime Begins Launch of its New Brand
The Walgreens and Prime Therapeutics-owned combined pharmacy company also adds approximately 1,000 jobs nationally
ORLANDO, Fla., Oct. 2, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- AllianceRx Walgreens Prime, the combined central specialty pharmacy and mail services company formed by Walgreens and pharmacy benefit manager Prime Therapeutics LLC (Prime), today officially began the launch of its new brand, which included the unveiling of new signage at its headquarters in Orlando, Fla., as well as at a few other company-owned facilities across the country. This also formally introduces the new brand to patients, some of whom will begin to see the AllianceRx Walgreens Prime name and logo on prescriptions and correspondence. Full consumer rollout, and all components of the company, are expected to be aligned to the new brand by the end of March 2018.
As part of forming the new company and as a next step, approximately 3,000 positions will transfer from Walgreens and Prime to AllianceRx Walgreens Prime by the end of the year. The company is also in the final stages of hiring approximately 1,000 more pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, nurses and other support personnel. This growth would bring the combined workforce of AllianceRx Walgreens Prime to approximately 4,000 people across multiple locations in 10 states.
Joel Wright, AllianceRx Walgreens Prime's CEO and a former divisional vice president for Walgreens specialty solutions, led efforts to unite central specialty pharmacies and mail services businesses previously owned by Walgreens or Prime.
