Jerome J. Kaufman, founder of Alside, introduced the world's first residential baked enamel aluminum siding in 1947. Since then, Alside has expanded to produce and distribute vinyl windows, vinyl siding, vinyl fencing and other exterior building products through 100 company-owned Alside Supply Centers and a large network of independent distributors nationwide. Products are sold via these wholesale channels to professional remodeling companies, contractors and builders.

To commemorate the 65^th anniversary, Alside will hold a weeklong celebration beginning Monday, August 6, at its headquarters in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. Key events will include a United Way Day of Action on Monday and a celebration with corporate employees and retirees on Thursday, August 9. This event will include food and refreshments, as well as the opening of the new AMI Legacy Center featuring a large Alside "timeline" wall graphic and a variety of company memorabilia.

In addition, guest speakers will include Mr. Jerry Burris, Mr. Donald L. Kaufman and Don L. Robart, Mayor of Cuyahoga Falls. The event will culminate with award presentations to select employees recognizing their above-and-beyond contributions to the company. Employee and customer events will also be held during the month of August throughout AMI's manufacturing facilities and the Alside Supply Center organization.
