American Airlines Teams Up With oneworld Members British Airways and Iberia for a Fare Sale To and From Europe

FORT WORTH, Texas, Nov. 1, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- American Airlines and two of its fellow oneworld® members, British Airways and Iberia, are observing the first anniversary of their joint business. To mark the occasion, the airlines are having a joint fare sale between the United States and Europe with fares as low as $224 each way, based on round-trip Economy Class travel purchased on AA.com.

Book now, as tickets for these special fares will go quickly and must be purchased by Nov. 15.  Economy Class fares must be booked at least seven days prior to travel, while Business Class fares must be booked at least 14 days prior to travel.

The Economy Class originating travel dates to Europe include Nov. 8 through Dec. 16, 2011, as well as Dec. 25, 2011, through April 1, 2012.  Business Class originating travel dates run from Nov. 15, 2011, through May 22, 2012.  All travel in both classes must be completed by June 15, 2012.

The special Economy Class fares to continental Europe are lowest for travel Sunday through Thursday.  If traveling to the UK, fares are lowest Monday through Wednesday.  Other attractive Economy Class fares are offered on other days of the week.  The special Business Class fares are valid any day of the week.  A Saturday night stay is required for both Economy and Business Class , while the maximum stay allowed is six months.

Taxes, fees and Conditions

Fares do not include (a) a federal excise tax of $3.70 per U.S. domestic flight segment, defined as one takeoff and landing, of a passenger's itinerary; (b) up to $18 per round trip in local airport charges; and (c) September 11th Security Fee of $2.50 per enplanement originating at a U.S. airport. For international destinations, government taxes and fees of up to $190 for Economy Class and $250 for Business Class, varying by destination, are not included and may vary slightly depending on currency exchange rates at the time of purchase.

Fares are subject to change without notice.  International fares are subject to government approval.

Ticketing/Travel – Economy Class tickets must be purchased seven days prior to departure and Business Class tickets must be purchased 14 days prior to departures but not later than 11:59 p.m. Nov. 15, 2011 (Central Time). Economy Class fares are valid for originating travel beginning Nov. 8, 2011 through Dec. 16, 2011 or from Dec. 25, 2011, through April 1, 2012, with return travel complete by midnight June 15, 2012. Business Class fares are valid for travel beginning Nov. 15, 2011, through May 22, 2012, with return travel complete by midnight June 15, 2012. A Saturday-night minimum stay is required in both classes, and a 180-day maximum stay is allowed. Tickets must be issued 24 hours after reservations are made.

Embargo Dates: Embargo dates for Economy Class travel are from Dec. 17 through Dec. 24, 2011.  Business Class travel has no embargo dates.

Fares are nonrefundable and nontransferable. Changes to your ticket may be made if you meet the restrictions of the new fare and pay up to a $275 fee for Economy Class fares to Europe plus any fare difference. The change fee for Business Class fares to Europe is $500.  Changes must be made before your ticketed flight's scheduled departure time. If you cancel your flight prior to the scheduled departure time, the ticket will be valid for one year from the date of issue for an unused ticket or one year from travel origination for a partially used ticket. If you do not cancel your flight prior to the scheduled departure time, the ticket has no value.
