American Nephrology Nurses Association and American Society of Nephrology Join Forces for One-Day Kidney Care Collaboration

A one-day collaboration at the ANNA Nephrology Nursing Summit will feature nurses from the American Nephrology Nurses Association and physicians from the American Society of Nephrology collaborating on kidney care innovations.

PITMAN, N.J., Sept. 17, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Nurses from the American Nephrology Nurses Association (ANNA) and physicians from the American Society of Nephrology (ASN) will come together for a one-day collaboration on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at Le Méridien Sheraton Charlotte in Charlotte, NC, as part of the ANNA Nephrology Nursing Summit to build nurse-physician partnerships and advance kidney care innovation.

The collaboration day will feature Dr. Robert Montgomery, a world-renowned transplant surgeon, pioneer in laparoscopic live kidney donation and donor "swap" programs, and 2025 TIME100 Most Influential People honoree.

Dr. Montgomery will discuss xenotransplantation—the transplantation of organs from one species to another—and its potential to address the organ shortage crisis. Participants will gain insights into the current state of transplantation, emerging innovations, and the future of kidney care.
