America's Registry of Outstanding Professionals Recognizes Barbara R. Taber For Excellence In The Field Of Higher Education
Barbara R. Taber of Suffolk, Virginia, has recently been recognized by America's Registry of Outstanding Professionals as a Lifetime VIP member. She has previously been selected as a Professional of the Year 2013 & 2014 and a Roundtable member for her contributions and achievements in the field of education.
FARMINGDALE, N.Y., April 24, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Barbara R. Taber is Chair of the Science Dept. at Churchland High School. She attained her A.A. in Liberal Arts at Averett Junior College in 1969 followed by her B.S. at Old Dominion University in 1971. In 1972, she earned her M.A. in Education at Virginia Polytch. and State University and her Ed.D. at Jones International University. In 2011, she earned her A.S. in Environmental Protection at Tidewater Community College. Dr. Taber is the recipient of numerous awards and nominations including the Pi Lambda Theta International Honor Society Award for Educators. She was also nominated twice for the Presidential Award for Excellence in Math and Science Teaching. Her published works include a Dissertation: Teacher Attitudes Toward the Use of Problem-based Learning in Science Courses with State-mandate, End of Course Testing among others. Dr. Taber is associated with NSTA, VAST, and TASE. She is also a volunteer with the Kempsville Volunteer Rescue Squad in Virginia Beach, VA and a Life Member of Nansemond Suffolk Volunteer Rescue Squad, Suffolk, VA. In her spare time, she enjoys scuba diving, fishing, reading and art.
