Amilpar -- Consolidated Revenues Grow 64% and EBITDA Increases 44% in the Quarter Compared to the Previous Year

RIO DE JANEIRO, May 11 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Amilpar (BM&FBOVESPA: AMIL3; Bloomberg: AMIL3 BZ and APAR < GO >; Reuters: AMIL3.SA), the largest Healthcare company in Brazil, announced today its results for the first quarter of 2010 (1Q10).

Amil's Results (without the effect of Medial)

• Adjusted Operating Revenues totaled R$ 1,290.8 million in the first quarter of 2010, a growth of 14.1% compared to same period of the previous year, and 2.8% over the 4Q09.
• Adjusted EBITDA came to R$ 138.3 million (10.7% margin) in 1Q10, 15.7% above the R$ 119.5 million (10.6% margin) recorded in 1Q09.
• The Company posted adjusted Net Income of R$ 67.0 million in the first quarter, 15.0% down on the same period last year, mainly due to lower net financial result as a consequence of the cash disbursed for Medial's acquisition.

Medial's Results

• Adjusted Operating Revenues in the first quarter of 2010 totaled R$ 570.9 million, a growth of 9.3% compared to the previous year.
• Adjusted EBITDA amounted to R$ 33.9 million in 1Q10, representing a margin of 5.9%.
• In the first quarter of 2010, adjusted Net Income came to R$ 13.5 million, 8.9% up on the first three months of last year.

Results in accordance with BR GAAP (consolidated with Medial)

• First quarter 2010 adjusted Operating Revenues totaled R$ 1,856.9 million, 64.2% up compared to the 1Q09 and 27.6% more than in the fourth quarter of 2009.
• Adjusted EBITDA amounted to R$ 172.0 million (9.3% margin) in the 1Q10, a growth of 43.9% compared to 1Q09. The adjusted EBITDA margin was 2.6 p.p. above the 4Q09 margin.
