Amway Celebrates $1 Billion in Sales for eSpring, ATMOSPHERE, iCook and AMWAY QUEEN Branded Products

ADA, Mich., April 25, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The Durables division at Amway is celebrating 2010 gross sales of $1 billion for the eSpring® Water Purifier, ATMOSPHERE® Air Purifier and cookware branded products of iCook® and AMWAY QUEEN®.

Roy Kuennen, director of product development, said when Amway launched its first water treatment system in 1984, it was among the first in market.  The company started selling air filtering systems in 1986.

Throughout the years, Amway has continued to improve these products, which are now at the top of their class, Kuennen said.

The eSpring Water Purifier is certified by NSF International and was the first in-home water filtering system to combine ultraviolet light technology with a patented multi-stage carbon-block filter.  The carbon block filter effectively reduces more than 140 possible health-effect contaminants.

According to global sales 2009 figures, eSpring was the world's largest selling brand of kitchen (or "Point of Use") water filtration systems and the world's second largest selling brand of home water filtration systems. eSpring won the 2010 SPE GPEC Award for "Design for Sustainability."  Amway also won the 2010 Asia Pacific Frost & Sullivan Water Filtration Company of the Year award for eSpring.

In 2005, Amway launched its third-generation air purifier under the ATMOSPHERE name and in 2010, the ATMOSPHERE brand was launched in China, where it has the distinction of being Amway's largest single-market product launch in history.  

Amway distributors have been selling cookware since 1961.
