CHICAGO, July 16, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Amy Cheng has been chosen to chair the franchise industry's premier legal event, the International Franchise Association (IFA) 2015 Legal Symposium, next May in Chicago. In its 48th year, the IFA's 2015 Legal Symposium is expected to attract more than 500 legal professionals and business executives from around the world. Amy will lead the Task Force of more than 20 industry professionals responsible for planning all aspects of the symposium. She assumes her role immediately and has already begun work by reaching out to esteemed peers, clients and other legal experts to request input on educational sessions relevant to franchising from a business and legal perspective.
"We all benefit and advance the industry when we pool our intellectual resources and share in-the-trenches best practices," Amy said. "The legal arena unique to franchising will improve by being collaborative. I hope many people will speak up and tell us what topics will benefit them most at next May's gathering so we can make 2015 one of the best years yet. I'm excited and honored to lead the next Legal Symposium."
Previous topics and sessions have included mergers and acquisitions, attorney-client privilege, cyber-security and data breaches, tax issues in international franchising, registration and disclosure, document retention, ADA claims and much more.
