Another World Adventures: Sail Around the World
LONDON, July 22, 2013 /PRNewswire/ --
Adventure travel specialist Another World Adventures is taking bookings for people to join the second half of an epic circumnavigation by sail.
In 2013 and 2014 three historic tall ships and sail training vessels are retracing historic trade routes around the world. Intrepid travellers can join as voyage crew and experience a hands-on sail crossing of the planet's great seas and oceans.
Voyages include crossing the Pacific Ocean, exploration of Antarctica, coastal cruising up the South American coast and Trans-Atlantic crossing to Europe ahead of the Tall Ship Races & Regattas in England in the summer of 2014. Infamous passages that turn landlubbers into ocean sailors include Cape Horn and the Drake Passage.
Setting off from Sydney Australia on the 9th October 2013 the voyage legs take between a week and 60 days.
Sailing experience is not required and all nationalities and ages can participate. Individual travellers are welcome as are couples and small groups. Voyages last between a week and 49 days.
The permanent crew explains everything about navigation, sail handling, square rig sailing and more as the voyage crew learn the language of the sea. The ships all sail 24 hours a day and at sea a watch system applies which means everyone takes turns on look-out.
As one team they will sail to new horizons and experience all aspects of a sailor's life on board: The wind, the sea, new friends and adventure.
Larissa Clark, Another World Adventure's co-founder, said today, "We're thrilled that we can help anyone with a thirst for adventure to realise their dream of sailing across an ocean or exploring a region as magnificent as Antarctica. Another World Adventures was founded after an epic crossing of the Atlantic Ocean on one of these ships, making it even more special. We envisage iconic sails like Antarctica 2014 to book up very fast as this is an exceptionally unusual way to discover the continent - perfect for wildlife and nature lovers. Island hopping in Brazil in February would also make the perfect winter break for those with less time off work."
Another World Adventures is a UK based company that handpicks and creates imaginative and inspired worldwide adventure challenges, pioneering expeditions, 'trip of a lifetime' sailing voyages and land based activity holidays. The trips are organised and led in partnership with professional international crews, local operators and trained guides sourced from destination communities.
Larissa explains, "Our trips are perfect for people looking to enjoy the 'journey' of travel, or those looking for a more creative and adventurous way to get to and explore some unusual destinations whether they're travelling alone or with friends."
