Anti-Bullying School Program, STOPit Rolls Out In 15th Public School To Help Eliminate Bullying And Harassment

NEW YORK, May 15, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- STOPit, an anti-cyberbullying program which provides schools with a mobile app that allows victims and witnesses to anonymously report incidents, hosting cybersafe rallies as well as inspirational posters, announced today that Ann Street School, a 2013 JerseyCAN top 10 rated school, will be the 15^th to roll out the platform since its inception in January. The company also announced over 200 schools, representing approximately 120,000 students across the U.S., are planning to implement STOPit in September for the 2014-2015 academic year.

To raise the funds needed to implement the program, Ann Street School will host a "Nut Day," allowing their 1,400 students to wear street clothes rather than their designated uniforms in return for a $2 donation.  To kick off the program, STOPit will conduct an interactive cyber-safety rally at Ann Street School on May 19^th.

With Instagram, SnapChat, Yik Yak, Twitter and additional social media platforms putting children at risk, STOPit takes a four-pronged approach to stomp out cyberbullying using various customizable features for each individual child. These functionalities consist of The STOPit button: "Stand Tall Tell All," The HELPit button: "A Shoulder to Lean On," The FRIENDit button: "Always Anonymous Upstander," and the The REPORTit button: "Secure Protection."
