APhA, ASHP, and NABP Release Call to Action for Pharmacy Workforce and Workplace Well-Being
A Report of the Implementing Solutions 2.0 Summit
WASHINGTON, Sept. 29, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, the American Pharmacists Association (APhA), the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP), and the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP) announced a new report including actions in key areas to improve pharmacy workplace conditions and an overall call to action for the profession. The report is the culmination of a recent invitation-only event convened by APhA, ASHP, and NABP to target the ongoing concerns of workplace conditions, burnout, and mental health. The summit was a follow-up to a 2023 joint meeting and allowed for further exploration of issues and identification of new strategies to improve the well-being of the pharmacy workforce.
The report, "Implementing Solutions Summit 2.0: Building a Sustainable, Healthy Pharmacy Workforce and Workplace," utilized the foundational themes and actionable solutions from the 2023 event, bolstered by targeted recommendations from the summit discussion for key action items. A call to action for the profession, comprised of five priorities, urges other pharmacy organizations, employers, pharmacy leaders, and members of the pharmacy workforce to carry the momentum forward.
The convening organizations, in addition to continued collaboration on the prioritized action items, have committed to developing a workplace assessment tool and associated resources. This new tool will be available soon. To learn more and read the full report in detail, click here.
