App Annie Hires AppPicker Founder as Director of Business Development

SAN FRANCISCO, Dec. 17, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- App Annie, the industry leader in app store analytics and market intelligence for the global app economy, announced today that Luis Gutierrez has joined the company as Director of Business Development, based out of the San Francisco office. Gutierrez has an extensive background that ranges from investment advising to reporting on the rapidly growing app and mobile space as the founder of Dutz Technologies LLC, publisher of AppPicker. Gutierrez will use his expertise to bring App Annie's market intelligence to the financial services and venture capital communities to help inform their investment strategies in the emerging mobile app industry.

Gutierrez brings more than 14 years of experience in the investment world, and has been involved with the mobile app industry since Apple popularized the concept with the launch of its App Store. Prior to founding Dutz Technologies he spent more than a decade working at Fisher—one of the largest, privately owned high-net-worth asset management firms in the U.S.—holding several senior management roles including Senior Vice President of Mergers and Acquisitions. When Dutz was acquired earlier this year, Gutierrez put his focus into writing "Super Apps," an eBook covering Apple's App Store history and providing advice to developers on how to market their apps. He graduated from the University of California at Berkeley, with a degree in political science.
