Appko Announces Appko Cloud for Enterprise Applications

SAN FRANCISCO, Sept. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Appko (www.appko.com), a Silicon Valley startup, announces the launch of Appko Cloud.  Appko Cloud is a virtual private cloud (VPC) for enterprise applications from Oracle and enterprise ERP systems.  Appko Cloud is being announced at Oracle OpenWorld in San Francisco September 20-22 at the Cloud Pavilion (3537 Moscone West Exhibition Hall).

Appko Cloud is different because of the combination of virtualization specific hardware, virtual and physical hybrid networks, high performance I/O, and staff with experience in Oracle Applications and ERP systems. Appko has a significant datacenter presence in the Silicon Valley.

Appko Cloud uses best in class technology and architecture for virtual computing.  Appko combines Cisco and custom hardware, physical and virtual networks, and software from VMware to create virtual private clouds (VPC).

Appko has created partnerships and an ecosystem necessary to support Oracle and ERP systems on its VPCs.  Appko Cloud is a special purpose virtualized environment for running large distributed enterprise applications with high I/O requirements.  Appko Cloud can also run Oracle technologies, like Fusion and RAC, because of its special characteristics.

Private cloud computing will work best in large enterprise environments. These systems will be converged (combining servers, networking, storage, and systems management) and highly virtualized.
