The full-time format is geared toward recent college graduates with fewer than five years of work experience who wish to improve their marketability and understanding of the business world. Classes for the 42-semester, 11-month program, which meets on the university's Newberg, Ore. campus, begin in mid-August and end in June of 2014. Financial aid is available.
Applications may be submitted online at mba.georgefox.edu.
The program employs an ethics-based, holistic curriculum with a global perspective, according to program director Jeff VandenHoek. Classes are held on the university's Newberg, Ore., campus and meet Monday through Thursday. A Friday seminar course often involves travel, as students visit corporations in the greater Portland area.
The full-time MBA emphasizes real-world business application, as the Friday excursions incorporate professional industry presentations, organizational tours and hands-on projects that focus on learning application. A variety of projects are implemented throughout the program to immediately impact local business processes.
The George Fox School of Business also offers a Portland Part-Time MBA program at its Portland Center campus. The 24-month, 42-credit-hour program is offered in two formats: a weeknight format that meets once a week from 6 to 9:30 p.m., plus occasional Saturdays, and a weekend format that meets approximately every other Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. New cohorts begin in September (weeknight) and January (weekends).
