Appy Pie Hails the Move as Apple Revises Controversial Guidelines 4.2.6
WARRENTON, Va., Dec. 21, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- After prolonged efforts from Appy Pie and the Small Business Community, Apple finally revised the controversial 4.2.6 guideline today that had severely hampered many small businesses. The guideline was aimed at reducing low quality apps in the App Store but resulted in many legitimate businesses getting impacted as their apps got rejected.
The earlier guideline "4.2.6 Apps created from a commercialized template or app generation service will be rejected" made it almost impossible for the small businesses to publish their app on the App Store.
The revised guideline states "4.2.6 Apps created from a commercialized template or app generation service will be rejected unless they are submitted directly by the provider of the app's content. These services should not submit apps on behalf of their clients and should offer tools that let their clients create customized, innovative apps that provide unique customer experiences."
