LOS ÁNGELES, 6 de octubre de 2016 /PRNewswire-HISPANIC PR WIRE/ -- Según la AHAA: The Voice of Hispanic Marketing  (La Voz del Marketing Hispano), muchos mercadotécnicos están aplicando mal las estrategias de mercado total, lo que tiene como resultado efectos devastadores sobre la cuota de mercado multicultural. Una iniciativa de la industria, dirigida por la AHAA en colaboración con la Association of National Advertisers (Asociación de Anunciantes Nacionales, o ANA) y otros expertos multiculturales, aclaró que la clave para alcanzar el mercado general cada vez más diverso de hoy se encuentra en el " Power of AND" (Poder del ADEMÁS) -un enfoque de mercado total que requiere tanto una campaña de mercado general con matices culturales, como campañas de segmento integradas y al mismo tiempo relevantes.

Según la presidenta de la AHAA Linda Lane González, "las campañas  inclusivas no son más que el mínimo de lo que pueden hacer las marcas para reflejar el nuevo mercado general, pero se quedan cortas en aprovechar la oportunidad total. Sin enfoques de segmento dedicados que trabajen en sinergia con las campañas dirigidas al mercado general, el crecimiento empresarial se estanca".

Para ayudar a aclarar la confusión, los grupos comerciales han desarrollado tres principios rectores para la aplicación adecuada de un enfoque de mercado total:

  1. Los enfoques de mercado total tienen que estar compuestos por una amplia campaña general dirigida a un mercado estadounidense diverso, ADEMÁS de incorporar enfoques dirigidos a segmentos demográficos, culturales y de idioma.
  2. Los conocimientos del mercado total necesitan ser integrados en todo el proceso de marketing.
  3. Alcanzar el nuevo mercado general requiere tanto una campaña con matices culturales como campañas de segmento integradas y relevantes a la misma vez.

"Si sólo estás haciendo publicidad general y llamándola publicidad para el mercado total, estás perdiendo oportunidades para acaparar un volumen de cuota de mercado significativo", dijo Michael Lacorazza, vicepresidente ejecutivo de marketing integrado de Wells Fargo. "Hay que determinar la importancia de cada segmento para cada campaña por antelación, preparar el presupuesto adecuado para la misma y dar a todas las agencias el tiempo para colaborar y encontrar las mejores y más valiosas soluciones".

La AHAA también ha preparado una lista corta de lo que NO es un enfoque de mercado total:

  • No es una campaña de mercado general con traducciones.
  • No es una campaña de diversidad sólo porque incluye sujetos de diversas razas y etnias.
  • No es una estrategia para reducir los gastos de publicidad.
  • No es asignar la responsabilidad de una campaña de segmento a agencias que carecen de profunda experiencia cultural.

El lunes, 10 de octubre, como parte de la Multicultural & Diversity Summit (Cumbre Multicultural y de Diversidad) de la ANA, la AHAA reunirá tanto a Reynolds como a Lacorazza para debatir con franqueza acerca de cómo Clorox y Wells Fargo han aplicado el principio del "Power of AND" a campañas exitosas que no caen en la trampa de ser campañas inclusivas simplificadas, sino que buscan ser efectivas a través de campañas generales poderosas que incorporen matices culturales y campañas de segmento integradas y al mismo tiempo relevantes.
