Aptilo is the leading provider of carrier-class Wi-Fi service management and offloading solutions.
With Aptilo's platform, Digital Way's WIGO users will enjoy carrier-grade Wi-Fi at hotspots across Lima including at Estadio Nacional, the 40,000-seat sports stadium in Lima, inside the top malls and outside in popular parks throughout the leading commercial municipality. Exact hotspot locations can be found at http://www.wigo.pe
Aptilo SMP creates a single sign-on and registration process for Digital Way users as they access the WIGO hotspots using any social media platform including Facebook, Twitter and Google+ from anywhere in the network. Aptilo SMP "remembers" users as they roam from one hotspot to another, eliminating the need for multiple logins.
Additionally, Aptilo SMP will recognize a user's location and redirect them to landing pages customized to the nearest AP and or hotspot, creating multiple monetization opportunities.
After a period dedicated to customer acquisition, Digital Way will monetize their Wi-Fi network through delivery of mobile ads tailored to the user and location. This further improves the personalized user experience with relevant ads and provides call-to-action opportunities for advertisers.
Digital Way will leverage the Aptilo SMP platform for its existing business-to-business (B2B) portfolio. Digital Way has designed its network to allow the delivery of multiple business models and will generate revenue by tailoring the service to the specific needs of different industry verticals such as enterprise, hospitality, healthcare, education, retail and airports.
"Location-based services are a natural fit for Wi-Fi hotspots as they provide advertisers with unique opportunities to reach the right audience at the right time," said Torbjörn Ward, CEO, Aptilo Networks. "Digital Way has shown us yet another creative way to monetize Wi-Fi."
"In Peru, people are hungry for free Wi-Fi. They are seeking open networks because data plans can be very expensive and slow. This business model, using Aptilo SMP, allows us to deliver carrier-class Wi-Fi, a streamlined sign-on process that encourages multiple access throughout the network, and the opportunity to offer location-based, personalized services," said Carlos Andres Lopez CEO of Digital Way.
