Arcadia Power Launches New Smart Home Device Subscription with Amazon Installation

WASHINGTON, Oct. 2, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Arcadia Power, developers of the first nationwide digital utility, today announced they are working with Amazon to connect homeowners and renters to convenient, in-home installation of smart home devices at zero upfront cost. Two new Home Efficiency Bundles are now easily available for order through Arcadia Power's dashboard in ten cities throughout the U.S. The Basic and Plus Home Efficiency Bundles come complete with smart thermostats, LED lighting, and more, as well as in-home delivery and set-up by Amazon Smart Home Services. The program is only available to Arcadia Power members, and will be expanding to additional cities in 2019.

According to the EPA, smart thermostats could save households anywhere from eight to 20 percent in power bills. Meanwhile, studies show that upfront cost is among the greatest barriers to consumer adoption of energy efficient devices. Arcadia Power has collaborated with Amazon Smart Homes Services to expand consumer access to these devices by eliminating upfront payments, and providing convenient in-home installation.

By simply logging into their Arcadia Power dashboard, members can select a Basic or Plus version of the Home Efficiency Bundle depending on their needs and set up an installation visit with an Amazon Expert at their convenience. The cost of the devices will be paid over time in installments applied directly to members' monthly statements, so they can start saving on energy usage right away.  

• Home Efficiency Bundle - Basic. For $0 upfront and $20 monthly installments over 36 months, Arcadia Power members will receive an Ecobee Smart Thermostat, three smart LED bulbs, an Amazon Echo Dot, four Wi-Fi enabled smart plugs, and convenient in-home installation by an Amazon Expert.
• Home Efficiency Bundle - Plus. For $0 upfront and $36 monthly installments over 36 months, Arcadia Power members will receive an Ecobee Smart Thermostat, three smart LED bulbs, four Wi-Fi enabled smart plugs, a Ring doorbell, an Amazon Echo Show, and convenient in-home installation by an Amazon Expert.

At the conclusion of the 36-months, participating members will own the devices. Arcadia Power will also educate members on how to best use the Home Efficiency Bundles over time, including engagement with opportunities to drive further savings, such as time-of-use rates and demand response programs.
