Arkansas-Based FRETMONKEY RECORDS Airing Worldwide Weekly Guitar Radio Show
"Slap Nutz Radio Show" Covers Both Instrumental and Singer-Songwriters in Several Markets throughout the World
CONWAY, Ark., Nov. 8, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- The radio program is produced at their Conway, Arkansas studio and features many award-winning musicians with outrageous guitar skills. The show is hosted by the former Canadian Fingerstyle Guitar champion and Guitar Wars winner, Kevin Blake Goodwin (aka "Goody"), and the Ernie Ball Acoustic Prodigy winner Travis Bowman (aka "Slap Nut"). The show is now airing on 365 Radio Network (Dayton, Ohio), MDOR (South Carolina), Q108 (Kingston, Ontario), and Radio VGR (United Kingdom).
FRETMONKEY™ RECORDS formed in late 2015 as an audio and music video production studio by Goodwin and his family. However, it was an inspired vision of uniting talented musicians across the globe under one collaborative record label that led to the unique formation of FRETMONKEY™ RECORDS – the label. What Goodwin found were 20 other award-winning and notable musicians representing 10 countries who felt exactly the same way. The concept evolved and their efforts resulted in an innovative artist-ran record label. In addition to Goodwin and Bowman, the label represents award winning artists like Don Alder (winner of all top guitar competitions in the world), Gary Lutton (winner of the UK-based televised competition Guitar Star), Jake Hertzog (winner of the Montreux Jazz Guitar Competition), Manan Gupta (winner of the prestigious Lee Reitner's Six String Theory Competition), Justin St-Pierre and Jamie Dupuis (winners of the Canadian Fingerstyle Guitar Competition), Ali Deniz Kardelen (Indiana Fingerstyle Guitar champion). The label also represents acclaimed musicians like Adrian Bellue, Adam Crossman, Aaron Edward, Kyle Horn, Haythem Mohammed, Raf Qu, Oscar Mendez, Geordie Little, Anthony Troy, Joseph Lyle, Dan Merritt, Kris Schulz, and singer-songwriter acoustic pop artist Tyler Sellers.
In addition to the label, the FRETMONKEY studio produces the radio show and offers its services to the general public. They have expanded their reach through corporate partnership and by sponsoring such events like the Berlin Acoustic Guitar Night, the Alchemy Singer-Songwriter competition, and notable guitar competitions like the Canadian, Indiana, and the Arkansas fingerstyle guitar competitions. The label is expecting to release a series of CD compilations highlighting their artists by the end of the year. To forward their mission, they will be launching FRETMONKEY NATION in early 2017, a social media platform designed to bring community and opportunities to DIY musicians across the globe. The "Slap Nutz Radio Show" is a continuation of the FRETMONKEY concept.
