The free edition license protects all files on any two computers using Windows desktop, Mac desktop, Linux, or BSD operating systems. Paid licenses can protect additional computers, non-file data via hot-backup agents for databases and applications, or virtual environments like VMware vSphere or Microsoft Hyper-V.
