Arnold® Bread Launches First-Ever "America's Better Sandwich" Recipe Contest

HORSHAM, Pa., July 24, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Calling all sandwich experts! Arnold® Bread is launching its first-ever "America's Better Sandwich" Contest in search of sandwich recipes that cater to both great flavor and wholesome nutrition. Whether your family has a taste for turkey or a hankering for hummus, Arnold® Bread wants to hear what nutritious ingredients you pair with its bread at www.americasbettersandwich.com. 

From July 23, 2014 to August 22, 2014, sandwich lovers can submit up to two recipes, using Arnold® Whole Grain Sliced Breads or Arnold® Sandwich Thins® Rolls varieties, in each of the following sandwich categories: 

• Creative Classic: nutritious spins on sandwich creations that have stood the test of time such as grandma's club sandwich, a BLT or another old-time favorite. 
• Stealthily Simple: sometimes, less is more.  These sandwiches pack in flavor with just five or fewer ingredients.
• Fueling Good: these energizing sandwiches should incorporate ingredients filled with protein and healthful fats, like eggs and nut butters, to leave you feeling like Superman or Wonder Woman.
• Meatless Marvel: sandwiches that contain no meats and can cure your hunger needs with plant proteins such as soy, tofu and hummus along with some of your favorite veggies, fruits, nuts or cheeses.

All Arnold® Breads are packed with whole grains, are cholesterol free and contain no high fructose corn syrup, making them a great starting point when creating a better-for-you sandwich. In fact, eating one sandwich made with two slices of Arnold® Bread fulfills at least two servings of whole grains.

All eligible recipes in the Arnold® Bread "America's Better Sandwich" Contest will be judged by a panel of experts based upon nutrition, creativity and ease of preparation. The top three finalists from each sandwich category will be also posted online for public voting to help determine Category and Grand Prize winners. On November 3, 2014, Arnold® Bread will reveal the highest scoring recipes in each sandwich category and award them with $5,000 each. In addition, the highest overall scoring sandwich will receive a $25,000 Grand Prize and the title "America's Better Sandwich."
