Sledgehammer and Ergenekon are high-profile and ongoing political trials in Turkey.  Sledgehammer involves an alleged Turkish military coup and some of the most sophisticated digital forgeries Arsenal has ever seen.  Ergenekon involves an alleged "deep state" in Turkey with ties to the military, academia, NGOs, and media.  Forged documents critical to these cases include plans to bomb mosques, shoot down a fighter jet, and overthrow the Turkish government.

About Pinar Dogan

Pınar Dogan is a Lecturer in Public Policy at the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.  She is currently a Visitor at the Institute for Advanced Study, Princeton.  Pinar and her husband Dani Rodrik have extensively researched the Sledgehammer case and have written two books on the topic, published in December 2010 and February 2014.  She received a Master's degree in Mathematical Economics and a PhD in Economics from University of Toulouse, France.  From 2002 to 2004, she taught at Koc University, Istanbul.  She was a visiting scholar at Public Utility Research Center, Florida, and at Ecole Nationale Superieure des Telecommunications (currently Telecom ParisTech), Paris, during 2001 to 2002.
