Donation drive for Gleaners Community Food Bank of Southeastern Michigan will provide over 8,400 meals for families in need this holiday season
WARREN, Mich., Dec. 8, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Metro Detroiters came together with a can do attitude in November as part of the Art Van Furniture and WXYZ-TV/Channel 7 seventh annual 'Together We Can' food drive! A total of 10,107 pounds of packaged and canned food was collected to help feed families in need this holiday season. Thanks to the generosity and big hearts of the community, the Midwest's No. 1 furniture and mattress retailer and WXYZ-TV/Channel 7 donated the non-perishable food items to Gleaners Community Food Bank of Southeastern Michigan. These donations will serve approximately 8,423 meals to feed hungry families and individuals in surrounding communities.
