Art Van Helping to Keep the Dream Alive
One Step Into Art Van Can Make A Difference
WARREN, Mich., Jan. 11, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Art Van Furniture is saluting Martin Luther King, Jr. one footstep at a time. This Monday, January 17th, Michigan's largest furniture retailer is commemorating the birthday of the late great civil rights leader, by donating $1 to the Martin Luther King Memorial Fund for each customer that steps through the door.
The Martin Luther King Memorial Fund honors the fundamental themes of Dr. King's life and work: Justice, democracy, hope and love. The money raised will help build a memorial in honor of Dr. King on the National Mall in Washington, D.C.
"We're proud to honor the life and legacy of Martin Luther King, Jr.," said Art Van Elslander, company founder and chairperson. "We're giving people a chance to help build a legacy in Washington that will perpetuate the dream and vision for generations."
To take the step that makes a difference, visit any one of the 34 Art Van showrooms and Art Van PureSleep stores throughout the state. You can learn more about the project at mlkmemorial.org.
