Patel, who is based in Silicon Valley, is a major addition to SIM IP's leadership team. He will focus on driving new opportunities for SIM IP to use its multi-strategy investment platform to help companies unlock the full potential of their intellectual property. Before joining SIM IP, Patel held leadership positions with global technology companies, where he was instrumental in driving global licensing revenue, expanding into new markets, and protecting core products. Most recently, he was Chief Licensing Officer at Nokia, where he spearheaded the company's video services and consumer electronics licensing programs. Prior to this, Patel was the Chief Operating Officer at Intellectual Ventures, where he extracted value from a large, multifaceted portfolio across many industries. He also served as Executive Vice President and Chief Intellectual Property Officer at TiVo (now Adeia), where he led the company's licensing business while safeguarding its most iconic inventions. Earlier in his career, he was the Chief Intellectual Property Officer at Technicolor, where he established his reputation as a leading expert in the entertainment and technology industries. He also served as Senior Vice President of IP and Licensing at Rovi Corporation and Global Head of the IP Strategy Group at IBM. 

A respected voice in the IP and technology fields, Arvin frequently contributes to major news outlets like Forbes and CNBC, and he's been recognized as one of the "World's Leading IP Strategists" and Top 10 "Market Makers." Beyond his corporate roles, Arvin serves as an Adjunct Professor at UNH Franklin Pierce School of Law, where he lectures on various IP strategy topics, and he is on the Board of Directors at UCLA Technology Development Group, which is responsible for commercializing innovations developed within the UC university system. Patel earned his J.D. from California Western School of Law and a B.A. in Legal Studies from the University of California, Berkeley.
