NEW YORK, Oct. 14, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Ascertain, the healthcare AI company transforming administrative workflows with agentic automation, today announced the appointment of Molly O'Neill as Chief Commercial Officer.
Molly O'Neill is a nationally recognized healthcare executive with more than 30 years of experience leading growth, innovation, and market expansion across startups, health systems and global enterprises. She most recently served as Chief Strategic Partnerships Officer at Aegis Ventures, where she led the Digital Consortium—a first-of-its-kind venture studio model developed with 14+ health systems representing over $100 billion in annual revenue.
Previously, Molly served as Vice Chancellor for Duke Health, where she oversaw strategic growth initiatives across clinical operations, education, and health innovation. She later held executive leadership roles at Medforth Global Healthcare Education Group, the largest provider of physicians into U.S. residency programs, as well as Tenet Healthcare, Mass General Brigham, Ascension Health Care Network, and Inova Health System.
"Molly brings precisely the kind of commercial leadership that will help Ascertain expand our impact across the healthcare system landscape," said Mark Michalski, MD, CEO of Ascertain. "She understands how to introduce innovation into complex organizations and build the trusted relationships that drive adoption and scale."
Ascertain improves efficiency across the entire administrative ecosystem by automating administrative processes and supporting clinical teams with agentic AI. With deployments across Northwell's 28 hospitals, Ascertain has delivered measurable results, including 67% faster prior authorization submissions and an 80% reduction in clicks required per case. Earlier this year, Ascertain raised $10 million in Series A funding in a financing round led by Deerfield Management to accelerate growth and expand access to Ascertain's AI-powered solutions to enable higher quality patient care and more cost-efficient care delivery across the healthcare system. CEO Mark Michalski also serves as Chief Information Officer at Deerfield, where he leads Deerfield Intelligence, the firm's data, technology, and AI arm.
Ascertain was founded in collaboration between Aegis Ventures and Northwell Health. "From the beginning, Aegis was designed to be more than a source of capital; we aim to be a long-term partner to our companies," said John Beadle, Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Aegis Ventures. "By embedding leaders like Molly into Ascertain, we're demonstrating how Aegis can deploy the right talent at the right time to accelerate commercialization and build durable, market-leading businesses."
"I'm thrilled to join Ascertain, a company at the forefront of using agentic AI to reduce the cost and complexity of administrative work in healthcare," said O'Neill. "By easing the operational burden on providers, payers, and health systems, especially in a time of constrained budgets. Ascertain is helping organizations expand staff capacity, lower costs, and ensure patients receive timely, efficient care. I look forward to working alongside this talented team to scale our impact, foster innovation, and advance our mission to make healthcare workflows simpler, smarter, and more human."
