ASSA ABLOY Group Brands Ceco Door and Curries Expand Acoustical Ratings of Hollow Metal Doors

NEW HAVEN, Conn., Feb. 12, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- ASSA ABLOY Group brands Ceco Door and Curries now offer a wider selection of operable hollow metal Sound Transmission Classification (STC) door assemblies. Ceco Door Sound-Tech Xpress Systems and Curries 757 Quiet Noise Door Series are now available with new sound deadening technology that enables STC ratings ranging from 32 up to 55 in single flush, temperature rise, glazed, and embossed panel doors, and pairs, flush and glazed.

These new acoustical assemblies from Ceco Door and Curries solve the noise solution for any facility due to new patented designs, innovative technologies, and lightweight sound-absorbing materials.

Ceco Door Sound-Tech Xpress Systems and Curries 757 Quiet Noise Door Series are supplied with the seals, ADA-compliant thresholds, and door bottoms (when required), to meet the STC label on the door. In most cases, special frames are not required, but if needed, Ceco Door and Curries standard welded frames backfilled with the proper sound deadening material will meet the STC rating.

All assemblies have been successfully tested to the required American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) standards, including ASTM E90, ASTM E1332, and ASTM E413 and are in compliance with Steel Door Institute (SDI) 128 and Hollow Metal Manufacturers' Association (HMMA) 865 specifications. With a 3-hour maximum fire rating and the brand hallmarks of strength and durability, these doors provide excellent safety and security for a wide range of new and retrofit commercial and institutional applications.
