A.T. Kearney's Global Expansion Continues with New Office in Bogota

BOGOTA, Colombia, Oct. 2, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Global management consulting firm A.T. Kearney today announced a further expansion into South America with the opening of its 58^th office worldwide in Bogota, Colombia. The new office reflects the growing importance A.T. Kearney's global clients are placing in Colombia as a key market itself and as a springboard for further opportunities in Latin America.

"Colombia is very favorably positioned in the region with almost uninterrupted 4-5 percent annual GDP growth since 1982, sound economic and monetary policy, democratic stability and market-oriented policies," said Johan C. Aurik, A.T. Kearney managing partner and chairman of the board. "In recent years our business in and related to Colombia has increased to the point where it is now an opportune time to establish a formal presence consistent with our global growth aspirations."

The Bogota office will be led by Maria Eugenia Fanjul, an A.T. Kearney partner since 2008 who relocated from the firm's Madrid office. Fanjul, a civil engineer by training, joined A.T. Kearney in 1995 from the construction industry. Her consulting experience reaches across multiple industries, but has a special focus on infrastructure, transportation and healthcare throughout Spanish-speaking markets.

"We see opportunities to assist our global clients and Colombian companies in numerous sectors, particularly infrastructure, oil and gas, mining, financial institutions, health, consumer products and retail."

The new office becomes A.T. Kearney's third in Latin America, joining Mexico City and Sao Paulo in a region the firm first entered in 1994.

Each year the retreat is held in a different global city; the 2013 retreat was held in Marrakech, Morocco.
