ATLANTA, Sept. 14, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Atlanta Addiction Recovery Center (AARC) announced today that the faith-based drug and alcohol rehab center is now an in-network contracted provider with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Georgia, Inc. The in-network status allows AARC to make its combination of evidence-based addiction treatment and spiritual care available to more people in need.
"The opioid crisis is a killer epidemic that's causing so much suffering and death in Atlanta and throughout Georgia," said Stacy Seikel, MD, Medical Director for Atlanta Addiction Recovery Center. "There are many people who need help for addiction. Our in-network status with Blue Cross and Blue Shield, a major health insurance provider in Georgia, will enable us to make lifesaving addiction treatment more accessible."
Led by Dr. Seikel, who is board-certified in anesthesiology and addiction medicine, AARC's multidisciplinary team includes nurse practitioners, registered nurses, licensed therapists and counselors experienced in incorporating Christian principles into addiction treatment. Dr. Seikel is well known for her work at the state level as an advocate for families struggling with addiction and her expertise in medication-assisted treatment.
Levels of care offered by Atlanta Addiction Recovery Center include an intensive outpatient program, outpatient services, partial hospitalization and a highly structured full-day treatment program. The highest levels of medical, clinical and psychiatric care are integrated with spiritual guidance to enrich the recovery experience, helping individuals derive strength from their faith.
Prayer, worship and Biblical interpretation are woven into therapeutic activities, as are holistic therapies such as meditation and art, giving patients additional tools to sustain sobriety. While AARC is based on Christian values of acceptance, compassion, forgiveness and hope, the Center welcomes all denominations and faiths.
AARC's services also include a family program to provide support for the loved ones of individuals struggling with addiction, and relapse prevention through an aftercare program.
AARC is located at 1640 Powers Ferry Road, Building 6, Suite 100 in Marietta, Georgia. The Center was launched by the same team that founded RiverMend Health Center of Atlanta, which provides treatment for addiction and dual disorders using a neuroscience-driven care model featuring medical best practices and holistic approaches.
