Atlanta Chapter of CPCU Society Honors Crawford with President's Award

ATLANTA, Jan. 12 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- The Atlanta Chapter of the CPCU Society has recognized Crawford & Company (NYSE: CRDA; CRDB), the world's largest independent provider of claims management solutions, for its contributions to the chapter's educational and charitable programs.

Company President and CEO Jeffrey T. Bowman accepted the chapter's President's Award and addressed attendees during a luncheon meeting of the chapter today at Villa Christina restaurant, 4000 Summit Blvd. NE, Atlanta.

"Over the past several years, Crawford has been an outstanding sponsor of the CPCU Society in general and the Atlanta Chapter's efforts in particular," said Barbara Williams, the Atlanta Chapter president. The Chartered Property Casualty Underwriters (CPCU) Society is a community of credentialed property and casualty insurance professionals who promote excellence through ethical behavior and continuing education. The society's almost 28,000 members hold the CPCU designation; requirements include rigorous undergraduate- and graduate-level examinations, industry experience and adherence to a strict code of professional ethics.

Bowman serves on the board of directors of the American Institute for CPCU, the organization that develops courses and confers the designation. In addition, several employees from Crawford and its Broadspire business unit volunteer as CPCU champions, promoting the designation among other employees and within the industry and their communities. Crawford employees instruct some of the chapter's CPCU/IIA classes and the Company regularly provides classroom space in its Atlanta headquarters for those courses. Crawford also invites the Atlanta CPCU chapter and other insurance-related organizations to exhibit at its annual Educational Fair.

In addition, Crawford has been the primary sponsor of the chapter's annual golf tournament and I-Day, which benefit various charities and support the chapter's college scholarship fund.
