Atlanta Residents Sentenced on Federal Narcotics Charges

Prison terms handed down in Northern Judicial District of Georgia for Career Criminals

ATLANTA, April 25, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Several metro-Atlanta residents were recently sentenced to serve time after being convicted on varying federal narcotic-related charges, according to information received from the U.S. Attorney's Office in the Northern Judicial District of Georgia.

Charles Dwayne Gray, 41, was sentenced to 97 months in federal prison and 48 months supervised release by U.S. District Court Judge Thomas W. Thrash Jr.  Gray pleaded guilty on Feb. 3 to charges Title 21, USC 846, drug conspiracy and Title 21, USC 841(a)(1), manufacturing, distribution or possession of a controlled substance.  This case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, (ATF) Atlanta IV, OCEDTF Strike Force and the Atlanta Police Department (APD).

Dontavious Parks, 32, pleaded guilty on Feb. 23, to charges of Title 21, USC 841(a)(1) and Title 21, USC 846. On Monday, Parks was sentenced to serve 70 months in the custody of the Bureau of Prisons followed by 48 months supervised release.  Parks was implicated in the conspiracy for his involvement during several undercover narcotics transactions.

Charles Edward Carr Jr., 47, received a sentence of 30 months in federal prison followed by 12 months of supervised release Monday.  Carr pleaded guilty to violations of Title 21 USC 843(b), use of communication device in furtherance of drug trafficking on Jan. 31.  This case was also investigated by the (ATF) Atlanta IV, OCEDTF Strike Force and (APD).
