Atlantic Street Capital's EZE Trucking Acquires Rig Runners, Inc.

IRVINE, Calif., Aug. 5, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- EZE Trucking (EZE), a leading provider of specialty trucking and logistics services for the infrastructure, energy and industrial markets and a portfolio company of Atlantic Street Capital, announced today that it has acquired Rig Runners, Inc., a leading heavy haul and over dimensional trucking company.  The combination of EZE and Rig Runners creates one of the largest national specialty hauling and logistics businesses.

Founded in 1982, Houston-based Rig Runners provides specialized heavy and line haul freight and logistics operations to national energy and industrial customers, primarily in the Texas market. The company has leveraged its highly regarded reputation as a service leader in energy to forge new industrial, power generation and construction relationships.

EZE Trucking operates in the specialized side of the trucking industry which requires specialty equipment, unique load management skills and extensive driver/project management capabilities.  EZE focuses on heavy and over dimensional loads that can exceed legal tonnage, width, height and length and require specialized route planning, permitting and escorts. Examples of EZE freight include bridge girders, oil rigs and turbines. EZE also provides its customer specialized LTL services in the western U.S. and logistics services across the country and into Canada and Mexico. The combination of EZE and Rig Runners will include 16 terminals, over 700 trailers and 400 power units and drivers.
