Atlas Cares to host Team Selfridge Family Day Picnic as part of the Selfridge Air National Guard Base 100-Year Celebration this August

TAYLOR, Mich., July 10, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- To celebrate the Selfridge Air National Guard Base (SANGB) Centennial, Atlas Cares is providing the family day picnic for service members and their families on Friday, Aug. 18, 2017. Simon Group Holdings (SGH) and Atlas Oil team members will provide more than 3,000 meals, games and a variety of activities for kids and families.

In 2007, Sam and Nada Simon created Atlas Cares, a team member sponsored program where Atlas Oil employees, customers and suppliers, have helped numerous organizations through both financial donations and direct involvement. Atlas and Simon Group Holdings employees will provide the family day picnic for service members and their families during the Selfridge Air National Guard Base Centennial, in August.

Selfridge Air National Guard Base is home to the 127^th Wing and hosts more than 40 tenant organizations on base. It is one of the three oldest continuously operating air fields in the nation.

Simon Group Holdings and Atlas Oil team members began their affiliation with Team Selfridge in 2006, hosting a Christmas celebration for 200 Selfridge-based Marine Reservists and their families prior to the Marines' being deployed three weeks before Christmas. That first December event has since grown into an annual holiday celebration with more than 3,000 attendees.
