Innovative Deal Makes AT&T Branded SEPTA Station Destination for Philadelphia Sports and Entertainment Complex

AT&T STATION, Pa., Sept. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- "Next stop, AT&T Station".  Whether they're headed to Citizens Bank Park to see the Phillies or to check out pre-season hockey action across the street, SEPTA riders will be pulling in to a re-named, revitalized Pattison Station today which now bears the name AT&T Station and the innovative elements of the AT&T brand.

The innovative deal builds on SEPTA's relationship with AT&T*, which is the only wireless carrier that provides underground coverage  along the Broad Street and Market-Frankford subway lines.  Nearly 800,000 monthly riders visit this transit hub for fans traveling to-and-from games and other events at the Sports and Entertainment Complex and commuters residing in South Philadelphia and the suburbs. AT&T Station has undergone a makeover with facades and walls transformed from gray to orange, and static posters were replaced with high tech digital displays.

The agreement, a first of its kind for SEPTA, is a creative initiation to generate new advertising revenue for the system as a way to help defray costs to customers and taxpayers.

SEPTA turned to Titan Outdoor LLC, the leading transit advertising agency in the country, on an aggressive campaign to bring in additional advertising dollars. Titan, with SWK Partners and BBDO Worldwide, worked closely on station beautification efforts featuring an AT&T branded facade on the exterior of the buildings.  In addition, the interior will receive improved communications tools such as new digital displays and signage on turnstiles.

AT&T Station will be officially opened at a ribbon cutting ceremony at 4 p.m. today.  Sports fans heading to the game and commuters alike are invited to join AT&T for a festive celebration featuring the Phillie Phanatic, Hip-Hop, World 'B' Free, a string band as well as Andre Igoudala and Thad Young from the Philadelphia 76ers.  Additional local personalities participating in the festivities include Neil Hartman from Comcast Sportsnet's Daily News Live and Steve Morrison from 93.3 WMMR-FM.
