AT&T Government Solutions Appoints New Vice President for Technology
Chris Smith, Former CIO of U.S. Department of Agriculture, Brings Strong Background in Cloud, Mobility, and Security
Will Lead 175-Member Technology Specialist Team in Development, Deployment of Federal Market Solutions
OAKTON, Va., Nov. 4, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- AT&T Government Solutions, a division of AT&T, Inc. (NYSE: T) today announced the appointment of former U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Chief Information Officer Chris Smith as Vice President, Technology. Smith comes to AT&T Government Solutions from Accenture Federal Services.
At USDA Smith pioneered the agency's migration to cloud, a transition involving more than 120,000 users, representing the largest implementation of cloud by a federal agency. Prior to his years at USDA, Smith held senior positions with the General Services Administration and the Internal Revenue Service. Additionally, he has led multiple missions around the globe as a Joint Tactical Communications Officer during his military service in the Air Force, Air National Guard and Army National Guard.
At AT&T Government Solutions Smith will lead a team of 175 technologists in the development of a broad array of AT&T products and services focused on the unique needs of the federal market.
