Autel U.S. Training Event Introduces a New Approach to Automotive HVAC Diagnostics

October 30 program will demonstrate how the MaxiHVAC AC909 addresses the expanding role of thermal management in today's vehicles

PORT WASHINGTON, N.Y., Sept. 24, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Autel U.S. will host a full day of advanced automotive HVAC and thermal management training on Friday, October 30, at the Hilton Garden Inn Roslyn in Port Washington, New York. Open to automotive technicians and educators nationwide, the program responds to enthusiastic global interest in the new MaxiHVAC AC909 Advanced A/C Diagnostic System and its disruptive approach to diagnosing increasingly complex vehicle HVAC and thermal management systems.

Automotive HVAC is no longer limited to maintaining cabin comfort. In hybrid and electric vehicles—and increasingly in internal combustion engine vehicles—thermal management systems regulate the temperatures of batteries, power electronics, computers and other components essential to vehicle performance and operation.

Despite this expanding responsibility, automotive A/C diagnosis remains largely centered on refrigerant service and the interpretation of high- and low-side pressures. The AC909 was designed to give technicians a more complete view of system operation by combining live vehicle data with refrigerant pressures, temperatures, humidity, airflow, electrical and sensor measurements on a single graphical analysis screen.

Guided procedures help technicians evaluate system operation, diagnose components, identify the cause of poor performance and verify repairs. This approach represents a significant shift in how technicians diagnose and service vehicle HVAC systems.

Gary DeLuca, Autel U.S. founder, spearheaded the development of the AC909 from the drawing board through the creation of a fully functioning system. The one-time training event gives automotive technicians and educators an opportunity to learn directly from the system's developer and understand the strategy behind its development.

Led by DeLuca and Applied Automotive Technology owner Gary Machiros, the training will cover advanced diagnostic strategies using OBD data and physical measurements; pressure, temperature and humidity analysis; component and electronically controlled system diagnostics; hybrid and EV thermal management; heat-pump systems; guided AC909 workflows; and new refrigerant leak-detection techniques.

The training will run from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tickets are $249 and include continental breakfast, snacks and lunch. Seating is limited.
