
Author Of International Bestseller Margaux Fragoso To Return To Alma Mater, NJCU, For Two Campus Programs In February
JERSEY CITY, N.J., Feb. 6, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Dr. Margaux Fragoso '02, an alumna of New Jersey City University who is the author of the award-winning, best-selling, and controversial memoir Tiger, Tiger, will deliver two campus lectures in February. Both are free and open to the community.
On Tuesday, February 10, she will be featured in "Careers in Publishing: Margaux Fragoso on Memoir, Fiction, and the Writing Practice," 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., in Room 317 of the Michael B. Gilligan Student Union, 2039 Kennedy Boulevard in Jersey City.
On Wednesday, February 11, she will be featured in "Writers on Campus: Margaux Fragoso Discusses Tiger, Tiger," 4:00 – 6:00 p.m., in Multipurpose Room A of the Student Union.
Published by Farrar, Straus & Giroux, Tiger, Tiger is a 322-page graphic account of Ms. Fragoso's 15-year relationship with a pedophile that began when she was seven and he was 51 years old. Their violent, sexually-abusive, and secret relationship lasted until his suicide.
Tiger, Tiger, which has been published in 25 countries and 20 languages, made the Prix Medicis longlist and was listed for two other French prizes, The Fnac prize and JDD/France, in 2013. In 2011, the book was among the works of non-fiction honored by The Washington Post, Kirkus Reviews, Publisher's Weekly, and Globe and Mail.
A New Jersey native, Dr. Fragoso currently lives near New Orleans and is working on a novel.
