PLANO, Texas, June 30, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Aventiv Technologies, a leader in innovative, safe, and secure communication solutions for correctional facilities, proudly welcomed its largest-ever class of summer interns. The investment in emerging talent recognizes the value of fresh perspectives in innovating technology and shaping the future of corrections technology.
With students from universities across the country, the 11-week paid summer program kicked off in early June with a two-day orientation at the Plano headquarters. The immersive experience introduced the class of interns to Aventiv's mission, vision, and values, highlighting how technology can improve safety, streamline operations, and foster better outcomes in correctional facilities. They also participated in roundtable discussions with leaders, gaining firsthand perspectives on industry trends and company strategy.
As part of Aventiv's Unity in Action initiative, the summer interns took part in a community service event packing backpacks filled with essential school supplies for local teens in need. This experience allowed interns to contribute meaningfully, build team connections, and see how service, empathy, and innovation drive change beyond the workplace.
"We're proud to welcome our largest class of interns yet, each bringing fresh energy, different perspectives, and a passion for innovation," said Dave Abel, Chief Executive Officer, Aventiv Technologies. "Interns play a vital role in pushing us to think differently and stay forward-looking. This program isn't just about giving students a learning experience, it's about investing in the future of our company, our industry, and the stakeholders we serve."
This year's cohort includes 17 interns, working in departments including communications, engineering, product, stakeholder engagement, IT, data analytics, finance, and human resources. Interns will engage in hands-on projects, mentorship opportunities, and leadership discussions, gaining practical experience in one of the most complex and impactful areas of corrections technology. Interns also will gain hands-on experience with the company's newest technology, like the EVOTAB and Officer T80 tablets.
"Our internship program is designed to give students real-world experience that goes far beyond the classroom. Last year, we welcomed six interns, this year, we've more than doubled that number," said Coy Wiggins, Director of Talent Acquisition, Aventiv Technologies. "That growth reflects our commitment to developing future leaders. We want every intern to leave not only with hands-on skills and industry insight but with the confidence to lead and make an impact wherever their careers take them."
"It's incredibly inspiring to be part of a company that's using innovation to make a real difference in people's lives," said Dhanush Pulavarthy, Intern at Aventiv Technologies. "My goal is to grow as a problem-solver and leader, and this experience shows me how a mission-driven business operates from the inside out. At Aventiv, I'm learning that purpose and innovation aren't just compatible, they're essential to driving meaningful change."
