Avner Mendelson Appointed as President and Chief Executive Officer of Bank Leumi USA

NEW YORK, Sept. 13, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- The Boards of Directors of the Leumi Group and Bank Leumi USA appointed Avner Mendelson as President and Chief Executive Officer of Bank Leumi USA (BLUSA), effective September 1, 2013.

Mr. Mendelson replaced Itzhak Eyal who served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Bank Leumi USA for the past three years. Mr. Eyal has retired after serving in various executive roles within the Leumi Group for 38 years.

Mr. Mendelson has been with the Leumi Group for six years, during which time he has served as the Head of the Group's Strategy and International Operations and as the Group CEO's Chief of Staff.  Additionally, he has served on Bank Leumi USA's Board for the past year and a half and has been an integral part of the strategic plans that were announced last year.

Prior to joining Leumi, Mr. Mendelson was a Business Analyst and Senior Associate with McKinsey & Company in London. He received his B.A. in Economics and International Relations from The Hebrew University in Jerusalem and his MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
