New Series Chronicles Untold Stories of Latino Exceptionalism and Families Who Built America

LOS ANGELES, Sept. 10, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Award-winning writer, Broadway playwright, and cultural advocate Rick Najera has partnered with acclaimed publisher Jacqueline S. Ruiz, CEO of Fig Factor Media, to launch an unprecedented book series called "The Latino Family Chronicles," which celebrates Latino exceptionalism and the extraordinary families who have shaped America. The series will chronicle multigenerational stories from Latino families representing all originating countries, preserving vital histories before they are lost to time.

The inaugural book, "Love, Truth, and Loyalty," tells the sweeping historical drama of the d'Escoto family's journey from Nicaragua, as chronicled by Rodrigo d'Escoto Jr. about his family's legacy. Based on hundreds of hours of intimate family interviews with Rodrigo and his father, Rodrigo d'Escoto Brockmann, this biographical masterpiece captures one immigrant family's courage, sacrifice, and triumph in building the American dream.

The series aims to spotlight Latino families from Mexico, Puerto Rico, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Colombia, Venezuela, Peru, Argentina, and beyond—showcasing how each community's unique journey contributed to America's cultural tapestry.

Ruiz, whose publishing group will produce the series, emphasized the project's cultural significance: "These aren't just family stories – they're American stories that have been overlooked for too long. Each book will serve as both historical record and inspiration for future generations."

"Love, Truth, and Loyalty" represents the gold standard for the series, combining rigorous historical research with deeply personal storytelling. Produced by d'Escoto Jr., the book transforms family oral histories into a compelling narrative that spans decades of political upheaval, immigration challenges, and ultimate success. He shared how he was deeply moved by his father's wisdom, realizing the importance of capturing more family stories for future generations.

That sense of urgency to preserve family narratives is what Najera sees as the driving force behind the series.
