Rentech, Inc. Analyst Notes
On June 16, 2014, Rentech, Inc. announced that its subsidiaries, Fulghum Fibres Chile (Fulghum), Forestal Pacifico and Forestal Los Andes, has signed a new long-term processing agreement with Astillas Exportaciones Limitada (Astex Ltda.), the Chilean subsidiary of Japan's Mitsubishi Corporation, to expand the volume of eucalyptus wood to be processed and sold under contract to Astex Ltda. The Company informed that the five-year contract, which includes a mutual option to extend for two additional five-year terms, provides for guaranteed minimum volumes using an arrangement for base fees, excess fees, and shortage fees. Fulghum will be rebuilding its current mill in Concepción, Chile to increase production capacity while Forestal Pacifico will process the bark produced from the mill and sell it as biomass fuel to local industrial customers. Forestal Los Andes, the Company's trading subsidiary, will utilize uncommitted capacity at the mill to produce chips for sale in South America or abroad. The Company expects that the total cost of the new chipping mill and debarker project to be $8.6 million, with the full capital cost financed with debt from Chilean banks. Alpha Natural Resources, Inc. Analyst Notes

Syngenta AG Analyst Notes
On June 16, 2014, Syngenta AG (Syngenta) announced its agreement to acquire Lantmännen's German and Polish winter wheat and winter oilseed rape (WOSR) breeding and business operations. Lantmännen is a Swedish food, energy and agriculture group. Under the terms of the transaction, the Company will gain access to high-quality germplasm, a seeds pipeline and commercial varieties which complement its portfolio in two of Europe's most important crops. Lantmännen employees in Germany and Poland will also join the Company. Both Companies will also enter into an R&D collaboration in wheat, and Lantmännen will distribute Syngenta cereals and WOSR seeds in Sweden.
