Babson College Partners with edX to Launch New Online Course Series: Business Principles and Entrepreneurial Thought
BabsonX designed to spark entrepreneurial thinking and key decision making among online learners from around the world
WELLESLEY, Mass., Nov. 7, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Babson College, the world leader in entrepreneurship education, has partnered with edX, a leading nonprofit online learning destination founded by Harvard and MIT, to launch Business Principles and Entrepreneurial Thought, a new online course series.
A distinguished team of Babson College professors will explore topics such as startup analytics, financial accounting, customer behavior, and strategy—all through the lens of an entrepreneur who has to make critical decisions for the success of his or her business.
The edX program is designed for entrepreneurs of all kinds—both those who are seeking to apply Entrepreneurial Thought & Action® within existing organizations, and those who are developing and launching their own ventures. Interested learners are looking to take action, contribute to the decisions of an organization, and are ready to move forward with their ideas.
"At Babson, we believe that entrepreneurial ways of thinking can make a transformative difference in any organization," said Babson College President Kerry Healey. "We are so pleased to be partnering with edX, and to introduce Entrepreneurial Thought & Action to learners around the world."
Business Principles and Entrepreneurial Thought will be offered beginning in early 2017 as an XSeries program, a sequence of online courses designed to provide learners with a rich understanding of a specific area of study. XSeries programs are available for free to all learners. Additionally, learners can also pay to earn an XSeries verified certificate to demonstrate competency and knowledge in a specific field.
"We are honored to welcome Babson to edX. As a leading institution in entrepreneurship education, Babson brings extensive experience in the field of business strategy and entrepreneurial thinking to the edX global community of more than 9 million learners," said Anant Agarwal, edX CEO and MIT professor. "We are excited to mark the beginning of our partnership by announcing an XSeries that truly showcases Babson's business expertise and provides learners with the knowledge necessary to launch successful and meaningful careers."
