JACKSON, Miss., Sept. 15, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Federal Home Loan Bank of Dallas (FHLB Dallas) and BankPlus, an FHLB Dallas member institution, will present Partnership Grant Program (PGP) awards of $12,000 to the Central Mississippi Housing and Development Corporation; $16,000 to the Mississippi Minority Business Alliance; and $4,000 to the Zoo Area Progressive Partnership. The event will take place at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, September 16, at BankPlus, 912 Dalton St. The media is encouraged to attend.
- The Central Mississippi Housing and Development Corporation works to upgrade living conditions of low- to moderate-income citizens of Madison County and will use the grant for capacity-building, as well as to offset operational and administrative expenses.
- The Mississippi Minority Business Alliance is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit with a primary mission of enhancing opportunities for minority- and women-owned businesses. The funds will be used to purchase computers and software, and hire a consultant to increase organizational capacity-building.
- The Zoo Area Progressive Partnership is a nonprofit community organization that supports the Jackson Zoo through community improvement projects and promotes the revitalization of surrounding neighborhoods. The grant will be used for organizational capacity-building and to sponsor a special membership drive in Jackson.
PGP awards provide grants up to $12,000 to community-based organizations (CBOs). The funds may be used for research, organizational capacity-building, grant- and funding-application assistance, or contractual services. Through PGP awards, FHLB Dallas matches a member's contribution to a CBO of $500 up to $4,000 at a 3:1 ratio. The grants are offered via a lottery system once a year through FHLB Dallas members. In 2015, FHLB Dallas awarded $225,000 in PGP funds. For more information, visit fhlb.com.
